The total surface area of Château Léoville Poyferré is exactly 80 hectares, 35 ares and 86 centiares (around 200 acres).
The vineyard is divided into 64 plots all planted with noble grape varieties:
- 35 Cabernet Sauvignon
- 17 Merlot,
- 11 Petit Verdot and
- 1 Cabernet Franc.
The particularity of Léoville Poyferré's vineyard is its high proportion of Petit Verdot (8%).
The Cabernet Sauvignons dominate with 65 % of the total surface area, the Merlots representing 25% and the Cabernet Franc 2%.
