A vintage marked by the Indian summer
A prodigious succession of mild weather, humidity, heat and sunshine characterizes the 2014 vintage. The Indian summer helped promote perfect ripeness of the grapes.

In contrast to previous vintages, water reserves were high after a wet winter. Vine growth got off to a slow start due to cool, wet conditions, foretelling of a late budbreak.

A true vintage for pleasure...
With wide ranges in temperature and rainfall, 2012 was a challenging year for the vineyard. After favorable conditions returned mid-July, this vintage, though off to an early start, proved to be late in reaching its optimum maturity beginning on 8th October. Tasting after tasting, 2012 never ceases to amaze and charm us.

First fabulous trilogy of the XXIst century
2010 is a sunny vintage reminiscent of 2009, although with lower temperatures. The wine itself shows the classicism of the 2008 vintage and the style of the 2005 with additional power. The new double-wall truncated cone shaped vats allow a real plot-by-plot vinification of the Grand Vin for the first time, enabling a pre-fermentary cold maceration to be carried out in optimum conditions. The results are immediately visible both in the aromatic intensity of the fruit and in the quality of tannins extracted. The Cabernet Sauvignon reveals the purity of its fruit with this vintage.

A new 1982 ?
The vine is an extraordinary plant with the natural capacity to adapt to weather changes and rising temperatures. Since 2001, the beautiful Indian summers, along with the absence of rainfall during the equinoxes, have allowed the Cabernet Sauvignon to ripen perfectly. Is this Bordeaux’s answer to global warming ? Man’s work : careful mastery of the yields and rigorous selection at each step of the vine growing and winemaking processes have made this one of the most attractive vintages of the decade, on the level of the memorable 1982.

The prodigious classical latecomer
Three essential elements enabled us to wait until the beginning of October for optimal ripeness: Man’s hard work, the Saint-Julien “terroir” and the welcome September sun. There was frequent rainfall from November to March, interspersed with very cold spells.

A truly “charming” vintage
Despite generally difficult weather conditions, thanks to Man’s hard work and the exceptional terroir, along with the more clement weather in September, a “charming” vintage was born.

“A Great 2006”
The vines benefited from very similar weather conditions to 2005 until September. The careful mastery of vine-care techniques followed by well-adapted vinification methods have brought out the full quality potential of this vintage, revealing a remarkable wine, more marked by the Cabernet Sauvignon than usual, comparable to 1996.

Very dry weather, without heat waves, hailed this “sunny” yet classic vintage. The fruit picked at incomparable ripeness allowed the making of a very fine wine that encourages the use of superlatives.
