Black truffle grilled cheese sandwich - Léoville Poyferré

Noé Malleval – Commis sommelier at Louis XV *** – Monaco

Noé’s wine tasting notes :

“This dense, garnet-colored wine has lovely purple highlights and offers great aromatic concentration.   Decanting is recommended to allow the wine to fully open, revealing notes of cherry in eau de vie and small black berries.  Hints of licorice and delicate notes of oak add to the wine’s complexity.

Bright acidity gives way to a lush mid-palate with silky tannins.  Fruity notes reappear along with a youthful, smooth texture. The soft finish lingers on with the all the freshness of the Saint-Julien terroir.”

More tasting notes and comments about Moulin Riche 2015

91/100 – The 2015 Moulin-Riche has an attractive bouquet with blackberry, raspberry, briary and light mineral aromas, becoming quite floral with time. The palate is medium-bodied with pencil shavings and tobacco on the entry, well-knitted tannin, moderate depth with quite a persistent finish. Nice salinity too. Didier Cuvelier made a very fine Moulin-Riche this year. Tasted blind at the Southwold 2015 Bordeaux tasting – Vinous Media

16+/20 – Tasted blind. Aromatic in a stony way. Big and quite beefy and assertive on the palate. Proper wine with a beginning, middle and end and sufficient fruit in the middle-Jancis Robinson
