Some vintages impose their style, much like the sun-drenched years. In contrast, 2024 reveals itself with sincerity. Here, the great terroirs of Léoville Poyferré express themselves with absolute precision, facing every challenge with remarkable success. This is a vintage of choice and commitment, inviting the taster to explore the heart of our exceptional terroirs.
After a mild and rainy winter, a brief window of good weather accelerated vegetative growth during flowering. This natural stimulation directed the plant’s energy toward its apexes, reducing its fruit-bearing potential. A fortunate twist of fate: with a lighter fruit load, the grapes benefited from better aeration, allowing them to fully mature in time for harvest.
“The team is part of the terroir.” For Alix Combes, our new Vineyard Manager, nothing happens without cohesion. His first vintage at the estate proved it. The rigor of a united and dedicated team paid off. Always reactive and precise, they maintained quality as the absolute priority throughout the year, never in haste. In September, the greatest challenge was resisting the temptation to rush to harvest, allowing our Cabernets Sauvignons to reach their full maturity before picking in early October. A victory
shaped by patience and unwavering conviction.
“Excellence is in the details.” For Didier Thomann, our Cellar Master, no detail is too small to make a difference. The meticulous sequence of each step ensures the highest quality possible. The result is a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Our technical team took great pleasure in the art of blending, where each plot expresses its unique character, shaping the timeless identity of Léoville Poyferré.
Didier Thomann was particularly struck by the Cabernet Sauvignons from the Gaunettes plot: “Incredibly refined, elegant, with remarkable length and structure.
A subtle saline touch makes it irresistibly moreish.” The Garics Vieilles Vignes plot (planted in 1968) stands out for its impressive tannic
structure and depth of flavour: “This will be the backbone of the vintage,” Didier observes. However, his favourite —the true coup de cœur of the vintage— remains the Bel Air plot, admired for “its creamy, indulgent texture on the palate. A wine of exceptional
quality, already displaying a stunning colour.”
“A vintage of vibrancy and precision”. Isabelle Davin, our Oenologist, praises the vibrancy of this vintage: “This is all about bright fruit, elegance, and finesse—far from the richness of dark fruits. Here, we have freshness, subtlety, and tension that make your mouth water and awakens the senses!”
How can one resist? The taster will undoubtedly be captivated by the pure expression of Léoville Poyferré’s outstanding terroirs. A true source of pride for our team, this vintage reflects their relentless pursuit of excellence and dedication.
