We headed to Manhattan for a double celebration: a dinner in honor of the 100 years of our family at the head of the estate, followed by an exceptional highlight of the 2018 vintage during the New York Wine Experience.
It is in the chic and cozy atmosphere of La Mercerie, a restaurant located in the heart of Soho, that we were able to celebrate the launch of Château Léoville Poyferré 2020, a vintage so special to us. On this occasion, we travelled through the history and terroirs of the estate thanks to a beautiful selection of vintages from the last two decades. The evening revolved around tasting highlights, from the range of family wines in Saint-Julien through to modern vintages, followed by the iconic 2009, 2005, 2000 and 1996 – in magnum! – before the presentation of the highly anticipated 2020 vintage.
This stay in New York ended in apotheosis at the New York Wine Experience. Sara Lecompte Cuvelier was in situ to present the 2018 vintage, crowned 7th best wine in the world during the 2021 ranking. What a reward for Sara’s first vintage, who did not fail, during her speech to pay tribute to the work of her teams to an audience of more than 900 people!
